The Chest Rig is ideal to use to be as lightweight as possible and to use the open back in the warm summer months.
Because the Chest Rig has an open back you are limited in carrying various items that you might need on the battlefield. Depending on the type of Chest Rig you only have room for pouches on the front or back of your belt / harness. This means that you have to be very selective in determining which pouches you need.
