The 101Inc. Light Rifle Hard Case 120cm Sand is a robust hard-shell rifle case designed to safely transport and provide long-term protection for airsoft replicas, optics and other valuable equipment. Thanks to its impact-resistant polymer construction, customisable wave foam interior and IP55 and IK08 certifications, your equipment is better protected against impact, dust and moisture than in a traditional soft case.

During transport, a rifle often has to endure more than many players realise. A sudden braking manoeuvre, a boot full of loose equipment or stacking several cases on top of one another can be enough to knock an optic out of alignment or cause damage to externally mounted accessories. That is precisely why experienced players, instructors and professionals are increasingly opting for a hard case that secures the entire loadout rather than simply covering it.

The interior is fitted with pick-and-pluck wave foam, allowing you to fully customise the layout to suit your replica and accessories. This not only keeps the rifle securely in place, but also ensures that a scope, red dot sight, suppressor, magazines or bipod are firmly secured. This prevents parts from knocking against each other or shifting during transport.

The sand-coloured version also complements desert loadouts and tactical gear perfectly, meaning the case is not only functional during transport but also visually matches modern military and outdoor equipment.

Why a hard rifle case and not a soft gun bag?

Many players start out with a soft case because it’s lighter and takes up less space. That’s often enough for short journeys, but as soon as you’re transporting a replica with valuable accessories, the requirements change.

A rifle fitted with an LPVO, thermal scope or high-quality red dot sight is often worth far more than the case in which it is carried. A good hard case therefore not only protects the replica itself, but also prevents costly damage to any accessories fitted to it.

In addition, the rigid outer structure ensures that pressure from above is barely transmitted to the contents. When several cases are stacked during transport or storage, the equipment remains better protected than it would be in a soft gun case.

Performance during transport and storage

Whilst a soft case is primarily designed to make it easy to carry a replica, this hard case has been developed to actually absorb shocks.

The IK08 impact resistance ensures that the polymer casing absorbs impact without immediately deforming or cracking. You’ll notice this particularly when the case takes a knock during transport, or is accidentally set down or knocked over.

The IP55 rating also protects the contents from dust and splashing water. Although the case is not designed for use whilst fully submerged, it offers more than enough protection during rainy match days, in dusty car parks or when being transported in an open vehicle.

What’s more, the snug-fitting foam keeps the contents securely in place. This reduces the likelihood of optics, suppressors or lights being subjected to constant minor knocks, which can cause wear and tear over time.

Ergonomics, safety and ease of use

Measuring 120 cm in length, this rifle case is suitable for most airsoft rifles, DMR platforms and many sniper replicas, depending on the overall configuration.

The large, ergonomic carrying handle distributes the weight comfortably across the hand, which is particularly noticeable when the suitcase is fully loaded.

For added security, the case features attachment points for padlocks that comply with TSA guidelines. This makes the case suitable for safe transport and storage, whilst the sturdy fastenings prevent the lid from springing open unexpectedly in the event of a hard impact.

One practical advantage that many users only discover later is the stackable design. When multiple cases are used for different replica kits or complete team kits, they remain stable when stacked on top of one another during storage or transport.

This is how this hard case fits into a complete loadout

A hard case is often the starting point for a well-organised kit. As well as the replica, there is space for items such as magazines, a tracer unit, a suppressor or spare optics, provided the foam inserts are adjusted accordingly.

For example, combine this case with maintenance products, spare parts, magazines, a LiPo Safe Bag for batteries and a separate carry bag for a plate carrier or clothing. This ensures your entire kit remains neatly organised and prevents hard metal parts from coming into contact with the replica during transport.

Practical insights that are often underestimated

Many players cut the foam out completely for all the accessories straight away. That might seem handy, but it leaves little room for manoeuvre if the configuration changes later on. It’s smarter to start by cutting out just the outline of the replica and add the accessories later.

A second common mistake is transporting a rifle with a bipod in the raised position or with protruding accessories. This puts extra pressure on vulnerable parts when the lid is closed. You should therefore always check that any protruding parts are clear of the lid.

It is also often forgotten that a hard case not only offers protection during transport, but particularly during long-term storage. As it is more effective at keeping out dust, moisture and knocks, the optics, rails and external components remain in good condition for longer.

Who is this rifle case suitable for?

This hard case is an excellent choice for players who regularly travel to skirmishes, outdoor events or milsim weekends and want to ensure their replica is fully protected during transport.

Instructors, clubs and professionals who wish to transport valuable training or service equipment safely also benefit from the sturdy construction and the customisable foam inserts.

If you only use a simple camera from time to time, without any expensive accessories, and only carry it over short distances, a soft case may be sufficient. However, as the value of your kit increases or you find yourself on the move more often, a hard case offers noticeably greater protection and peace of mind.

Key features

  • IK08 shock-resistant polymer construction absorbs impact during transport and reduces the risk of damage to replicas and optics.
  • IP55-certified protection against dust and splashing water protects the contents during rainy days at the playground, in dusty environments and during storage.
  • Customisable pick-and-pluck wave foam secures rifles and accessories to prevent them from shifting during transport.
  • TSA-lock-ready and stackable design ensure secure storage, efficient transport and the neat organisation of multiple suitcases.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will a sniper rifle fit in this hard case?
That depends on the overall length of the replica. With an internal length of approximately 120 cm, many sniper rifles will fit, but always check the overall dimensions, including any suppressor or muzzle device.

Is the case completely watertight?
The IP55 rating provides protection against dust and splashing water. The case is not designed for prolonged use underwater.

Can I adjust the foam again later?
Yes. The pick-and-pluck foam is designed so that you can adjust the layout to suit your current configuration.

Does this case also protect mounted optics?
Yes. When the foam is cut to size correctly, sights, lights and other accessories remain securely in place, greatly reducing the risk of damage during transport.

Is this hard case suitable for air travel?
The case has TSA-lock-ready attachment points for padlocks. You should also always check the current regulations of the airline you are travelling with.
