The Helikon-Tex MBDU Shirt® NyCo Ripstop OD Green forms part of the Modern Battle Dress Uniform (MBDU®) and has been developed for users who are active in tactical environments for extended periods. The shirt combines high durability with excellent freedom of movement and is designed for airsoft, military training, reconnaissance missions and outdoor activities.

Thanks to its ergonomic fit, the use of NyCo Ripstop and the elasticated VersaStretch® panels, the shirt offers a high level of comfort during intense physical activity. It can be worn on its own or combined with other items from the MBDU uniform system, such as the MBDU Trousers.

Designed for intensive tactical use

The MBDU Shirt is made from NyCo Ripstop, a fabric that has proven itself in operational use thanks to its excellent balance between durability and comfort. Nylon ensures high abrasion and tear resistance, whilst cotton enhances comfort during prolonged wear. Thanks to the ripstop weave, any damage does not spread further, which significantly extends the shirt’s lifespan.

Wide VersaStretch® panels have been incorporated along both sides of the shirt. This four-way stretch fabric moves naturally with the body and prevents the shirt from riding up or restricting freedom of movement. Furthermore, the breathable structure of VersaStretch® aids temperature regulation during prolonged exertion and in warm conditions.

Mesh panels have been incorporated under the armpits to provide extra ventilation, allowing heat and moisture to be wicked away more effectively during intense activities.

Functional design with clever storage solutions

The MBDU Shirt has been designed based on practical experience gained during training and in operational use. The anatomical fit hugs the body closely without restricting freedom of movement.

The classic collar can easily be converted into a stand-up collar and fastened with Velcro for extra protection around the neck. The cuffs are also adjustable with Velcro, ensuring that the sleeves stay securely in place whilst moving.

The shirt fastens with concealed Canadian buttons, which are renowned for their durability and reliability.

The four functional pockets are fitted with high-quality YKK® zips:

• Two spacious, expandable chest pockets for documents or other essential kit.
• Two upper arm pockets with internal attachment loops for securing dummy cords or small accessories.

In addition, the shirt features a comprehensive personalisation system with large Velcro panels on the upper arms, smaller panels for flags or IFF markings, and Velcro above the chest pockets. There is also a special rank tab in the centre of the chest for rank insignia.

The PL Woodland, MultiCam Black™ and Flecktarn colour variants feature additional pockets for inserting soft protectors. This feature is not available on the OD Green version.
