Specna Arms CORE™ 1-4X24RG Rifle Scope Black

Would you like to combine the speed of a low-magnification scope with the ability to get a clearer view of targets at greater ranges? The Specna Arms CORE™ 1-4x24RG Rifle Scope Black offers a variable magnification of 1x to 4x and has therefore been designed for airsoft players who regularly switch between short and medium ranges during a skirmish.

The scope features an illuminated reticle in red, green and blue, with three brightness settings available. Add to that a 24 mm objective lens, a 30 mm tube diameter, 85–100 mm eye relief and precise horizontal and vertical adjustment, and you have a versatile optic for assault rifles, outdoor builds and compact DMR set-ups.

Why choose the Specna Arms CORE™ 1-4x24RG Rifle Scope?

The main advantage of this scope is its 1–4x magnification range. Unlike scopes that, for example, only start at 3x magnification, you can use this optic at its lowest setting when you need a broader view.

As the distance increases, increase the magnification to around 4x so that you can see the target more clearly and aim more accurately.

This makes this scope particularly useful for players who don’t stick to just one type of terrain. If, during the same skirmish, you move from buildings and wooded areas to larger open fields, you can adjust the magnification without having to change optics.

Variable magnification from 1x to 4x

The Specna Arms CORE™ Rifle Scope has a variable magnification range of 1x to a maximum of 4x.

The 1x setting is designed for situations where you want to maintain as clear a view as possible and the targets are relatively close by. For greater distances, you can then gradually increase the magnification.

At 4x magnification, you get a clearer view of distant targets without having to use the higher magnification of a traditional sniper scope straight away.

This combination makes the scope suitable for versatile airsoft rifles where flexibility is more important than maximum magnification.

24 mm lens

The scope is fitted with a 24 mm objective lens.

This relatively compact lens diameter fits in well with the 1–4x concept and helps to keep the overall size of the scope down. The scope has a stated length of approximately 25 cm and weighs around 395 grams.

This gives you a magnifying effect without having to fit a large 40 or 50 mm objective lens directly onto your replica.

For a compact rifle or assault rifle build, this can be appealing in terms of both appearance and handling.

Illuminated crosshairs in three colours

The Specna Arms CORE™ 1-4x24RG features an illuminated reticle which, according to the product description, can be displayed in three different colours:
　• Red
　• Green
　• Blue

This allows you to choose a colour that is most visible to you against the background you’re playing on.

Against a dark, wooded background, for example, a particular colour may stand out more clearly, whilst in other circumstances you might actually prefer a different colour.

The lights are powered by a CR2032 battery.

Three brightness settings

As well as a choice of three colours, the lighting has three brightness settings.

This allows you to adjust the brightness of the illuminated reticle to suit the amount of ambient light.

Greater brightness isn’t necessarily better. When you’re shooting in a dark environment, a reticle that’s too bright can actually be distracting and obstruct part of your field of view through the scope.

You should therefore preferably select the lowest setting at which the reticle is still clearly visible under the relevant conditions.

Precise horizontal and vertical adjustment

To adjust the scope correctly on your replica, both the horizontal and vertical positions of the reticle can be adjusted.

The specified correction value is 1/4 inch per click at 100 yards.

This allows you to make small, controlled adjustments whilst zeroing.

With an airsoft replica, it remains important to first ensure a consistent BB trajectory. You should therefore first adjust your hop-up correctly for the BB weight you are actually using, and only then begin zeroing in the scope.

30 mm tubediameter

The Specna Arms CORE™ 1-4x24RG has a tube diameter of 30 mm.

This is a common size for this type of rifle scope and determines, amongst other things, which mounting rings are suitable for the optic.

With this version, however, you don’t need to go looking for suitable rings yourself straight away, as Specna Arms includes a mount with the scope.

This makes it easier to fit the optic directly onto a compatible airsoft replica.

Inclusief Weaver/Picatinny/RIS montage

The scope comes with a mount for attaching it to a Weaver/Picatinny/RIS rail.

This means the scope can be fitted to many modern airsoft rifles with a standard top rail.

An Allen key is also included for assembly.

When installing it, do take a moment to find the right position. Simply clamping the scope onto the rail somewhere and hoping it’s in the right place rarely results in the most comfortable shooting position.

Eye relief van 85 tot 100 mm

The specified eye relief is 85 to 100 mm.

Eye relief is the distance between your eye and the eyepiece at which you get a clear view through the scope. It is therefore important to position the scope correctly on your rail.

It is best to mount the scope whilst taking your normal shooting stance into account. Shoulder your replica as you would during a skirmish, and then work out where the scope should be positioned so that you can quickly get a full view.

Please also bear in mind the position of your stock and any face or eye protection you may be wearing.

Coarse texture on the extension ring

The extension ring has a textured surface for extra grip.

That might seem like a minor detail, but during a skirmish you want to be able to adjust the magnification quickly without having to spend ages looking for the right ring first.

The extra grip can be particularly useful when you’re wearing gloves or when conditions are wet or muddy.

This allows you to switch relatively quickly from 1x to a higher magnification when the terrain changes.

Anti-fog protection

According to the product information, the scope features anti-fog protection.

This is a useful feature for airsoft and outdoor use, as temperature variations and damp conditions can affect the view through a scope.

A clear image naturally remains important if you actually want to use the magnification to identify and track targets more effectively.

Protective covers for transport

The scope comes with glass/lens caps designed to protect the optics during transport.

This prevents the lenses from coming into direct contact with other equipment during storage or transport.

When using these during an airsoft skirmish, it is important to distinguish between transport protection and actual impact protection. The information provided does not specify a BB impact rating for these caps.

If you want to protect the front lens as effectively as possible whilst playing, we therefore recommend using a suitable lens protector.

Part of the Specna Arms CORE™ range

This 1-4x24RG is part of the Specna Arms CORE™ range of optics and mounts.

The range is aimed at airsoft players looking for functional optics that offer good value for money.

Within this range, this 1-4x24 is particularly appealing to shooters looking for a versatile optic. Whilst it offers a lower maximum magnification than, for example, a 3-9x scope, it does, on the other hand, have a much lower minimum magnification.

This makes this scope better suited to replicas that are not used exclusively for long-range shooting.

Ideal for a versatile rifle build

A 1–4x scope is a good fit for a replica that you want to be able to use in a variety of roles.

At 1x, you can work relatively quickly as targets come into view. In open terrain, you can switch to 2x, 3x or 4x when you need extra magnification.

For an assault rifle used mainly outdoors, a reconnaissance-style build or a compact DMR, this could therefore be an interesting configuration.

If you play exclusively in CQB, a red dot sight without magnification is generally simpler and quicker. If, on the other hand, you play exclusively at long range, a scope with a higher maximum magnification might be a better option. This 1-4x scope is deliberately designed to bridge the gap between those two applications.

Practical tip

First, adjust your hop-up and BB weight before zeroing the scope. Then mount the optic so that, from your normal shooting position, you can easily achieve the specified eye relief of 85–100 mm. Do you use a full-face mask? If so, always check the position whilst wearing your face protection, as this can affect your cheek weld and the distance to the scope.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the magnification of the Specna Arms CORE™ 1-4x24RG?
The scope has a variable magnification ranging from 1x to a maximum of 4x. This allows you to adjust the magnification to suit different distances on the playing field.

What does 1-4x24 mean?
The designation 1-4x indicates the magnification range. The 24 refers to the diameter of the objective lens, which is 24 mm.

Can I use the scope at 1x?
Yes. The lowest magnification setting is 1x. This makes this scope better suited to shorter ranges than scopes that start with a higher magnification as standard.

Is the reticle illuminated?
Yes. According to the detailed product description, the reticle can be illuminated in red, green and blue.

How many brightness settings does the light have?
There are three brightness settings available, so you can adjust the intensity to suit the conditions.

What type of battery does the scope use?
The backlight is powered by a CR2032 battery.

Can I adjust the scope horizontally and vertically?
Yes. The scope can be adjusted both horizontally and vertically. The adjustment value is 1/4 inch per click at 100 yards.

What is the eye relief of this scope?
The specified eye relief is 85 to 100 mm.

What is the tube diameter?
The tube diameter is 30 mm.

Is a mount included?
Yes. The scope comes with a mount for a compatible Weaver/Picatinny/RIS rail.

Are lens caps included?
Yes. Lens caps are included and help to protect the optics during storage and transport.

Are the supplied lens caps BB-proof?
The manufacturer does not specify a BB impact rating in the information provided. We therefore recommend using a suitable airsoft lens protector if you wish to provide extra protection for the front lens during a skirmish.

Is this scope suitable for CQB?
Thanks to its minimum magnification of 1x, this scope is more suitable for close-range use than scopes with higher magnification. However, for CQB alone, a red dot sight without magnification remains the simplest and quickest option for many players.

Is this scope suitable for a DMR?
Yes, particularly for a compact or versatile DMR where you’re not operating exclusively at long range. If you’re mainly looking for maximum magnification for longer ranges, then a scope with, for example, 6x or 9x maximum magnification might be more suitable.

How much does the Specna Arms CORE™ 1-4x24RG weigh?
The stated weight is approximately 395 grams.

Advice from Airsoft-Legends

In our view, the Specna Arms CORE™ 1-4x24RG Rifle Scope Black is particularly appealing to players who don’t want to have to choose between a red dot sight alone or a rifle scope with higher magnification. The 1x to 4x range allows you to use the same optic in quite different situations.

We see the benefit of this particularly on outdoor pitches. In a wooded or built-up area, you can keep the magnification low. If you then find yourself in an open area, you can turn the magnification up to get a better view of opponents further away.

The illuminated reticle in red, green and blue is a nice extra, especially as you can choose from three brightness settings. The 30 mm tube, 85–100 mm eye relief and included rail mount also make this a thoroughly comprehensive scope.

For a dedicated sniper, we would tend to look for a higher magnification, whilst for CQB only, a red dot remains our first choice. But if you’re looking for a single versatile optic for a rifle used at both short and medium ranges, then a 1-4x configuration such as this Specna Arms CORE™ is a particularly practical compromise.
